Four armed robberies, car jackings Sunday in New Orleans extend crime streak; record since 2010
(N.O. ADOVOCATE) Two armed robberies and two car jackings in New Orleans on Sunday extend the city’s streak to 70 straight days with at least one of those crimes occurring, according to crime analyst and New Orleans Advocate ‘Behind the Numbers‘ blogger Jeff Asher.
That streak is the longest since at least 2010, said Asher, and has lasted far longer than the 44-day streak that ended on Dec. 8, 2011 and the 44-day streak that ended on Oct. 16. Asher said that a robbery or carjacking has occurred on 111 of the last 113 days.
